OK. Let's try and get something going here. How about this question. When should case history be taught in the curriculum. There are two schools of thought here at SUNY. There are those who believe it should be taught right at the beginning of the first year, since it is the first procedure carried out on a patient, while others believe that it should come late in the first year (and even into the second year) when the students have gained enough knowledge to understand why they are asking the questions and what the responses actually mean.

We teach case history briefly in the first semester of the first year. We then teach it more extensively in the second semester of the second year (right before they go into clinic). This seems to work out pretty well.

We do the same here at NSU. I introduce the components of the case hx in their first year (first lab actually) just so students understand the major components of the case hx. The case hx is revisited in each of their subsequent theory and methods courses which span a total of 4 semesters.
